Spend an afternoon with Dr.Rebecca Hall, to work on the foundational elements that help transform an idea into a compelling book.

After years of writing I’ve learned stories rarely begin as books. They begin as questions or something we cannot stop thinking about. If this resonates with you and you’ve been looking to turn your idea into a reality, my upcoming workshop is for you.

You may have years of research, pages of notes, memories, ideas, and experiences that all feel important. But how do you bring them together into a story that takes your reader somewhere?

Every meaningful story has a "red thread."

The red thread is the underlying connection that guides your reader through the journey. It is the question, idea, or purpose that holds the story together and helps your audience understand why it matters.

Finding that thread is often where the real work begins.

If you are struggling to shape your idea into a cohesive story, my upcoming workshop at Wake Productions Headquarters, Conceptual Story Editing, an interactive workshop designed to help you move from idea to creation is for you.

In this space we’ll explore:

What is the deeper story underneath your ideas?

What is the central question guiding your work?

What does your reader need to understand, feel, or experience?

How do you decide what belongs—and what doesn’t?

Through interactive exercises and breakout sessions, we will work together to uncover the foundation of your story and strengthen the connection between your ideas and your audience.

When I wrote Wake: The Hidden History of Women-Led Slave Revolts, I began with years of research and a story I knew needed to be brought forward. But the process was not simply about collecting information, I had to discover the deeper thread that connected the history, the people, and the questions I was trying to answer.

That is the work of conceptual story editing.

I hope you’ll join me at Wake Productions Headquarters as we explore how to move your story from an idea into a powerful, meaningful creation.

I look forward to working with you.

There are two free slots available for community members who are not able to pay for this event- Please email info@rebhallphd.org for more information.
